Split shipment

Many families send a small air lot for arrival week and sea for the rest. Tell the surveyor your arrival date.

Is it worth shipping furniture abroad or should I sell it?

Solid wood, custom or sentimental pieces usually justify sea freight; flat-pack often does not once freight is compared to replacement cost abroad. The surveyor flags items where shipping may exceed value.

Who pays customs duty at the destination?

You (the importer) pay any duty or tax the destination levies. Many countries waive duty on used household goods when transferring residence, subject to conditions — see each country page. Duty is never in our freight quote.
